JULIE ALLEN

PRINCIPAL OF HOVE DANCE CENTRE

(ISTD)

Julie is the principal of the Hove Dance Centre and first started dancing at the age of 7 in Derbyshire where she trained in Tap and Ballroom. When she moved to Brighton she attended the Victor Silvester Dance School eventually qualifying as an Associate in Ballroom. She was then made principle of the school. Two years after leaving she returned to teaching part time at the studio in Hove Street and subsequently took over the business. She continued her professional training under Peggy Spencer M.B.E. taking further teaching exams in Ballroom and Latin American. She is also qualified in Disco and has trained many pupils from social dancers through to competitors and professionals.

CAROLINE HAMPTON

ISTD DANCE TEACHER

Caroline took her first dance exam at the age of 3 and continued training and taking exams in Latin American, Ballroom, Disco and Rock’n’Roll until leaving school in 1990. She then started working at the Hove Dance Centre and training for teaching exams. She gained her Associate in Rock’n’Roll and Disco in 1994 and Associate in Latin American in 1997. She was a finalist in the Phyllis Haylor scholarship in 1994 and has lectured at the I.S.T.D. Disco congress. She trains pupils in Disco, Latin American and Rock’n’Roll and choreographs dance routines for bands and shows.

JAKE HOOKER
ISTD DANCER TEACHER

Jake started at the age of 11 in 2005 at Hove Dance Centre and has danced through the levels and has competed successfully at national level in I.S.T.D in all age groups. He now continues to train to compete at Professional competitions in Ballroom and Latin American and regularly demonstrates at events and does television work with his dancing. 

He is a trained I.S.T.D Associate Ballroom teacher and teaches other alternative styles of dance associated with Ballroom and Latin.
