HDC Covid 19 statement
Tuesday 17 March,
As you are all aware, there have recently been changes and escalations regarding the COVID-19 situation. So we would like to release a statement regarding the next few weeks/months at Hove Dance Centre.
Tonight’s classes will be running as usual! Please note, in tonight’s classes and upcoming private lessons we are happy for couples to dance with each other. However partnering by teachers, from pupils who haven’t come with someone else and partner sharing will be kept to a minimum. Classes will be mainly based around solo practise of technique and routines.
At the moment both Jake and Nat are happy to continue with their private lessons for both couples and solos, unless guidelines further change.
Please can you contact your teacher if you already have a private lesson booked.
Private lessons, commencing tomorrow Wednesday 18th March, will be limited to
45-minute lessons to give a 15-minute gap for lesson swap overs and time for cleanliness to be maintained.
Planned classes for the rest of this week will unfortunately not be running. The circumstances over the next few months are unpredictable so the HDC team would like to take some time to prepare things so that you can continue with your dancing, even if coming to the studio isn’t an option.
Our preparations for this include:
online tuition (including 1-1’s)
Theory and technique videos
Live stream group sessions
Hove Dance Centre wishes to keep our services running in one form or another as we know that dancing is an important part of the lives of all our studio members.
Working alongside the government's guidelines, in the following weeks, we are hoping to restarts classes again. However, we will be taking steps to ensure the wellbeing of participants. These will include potentially limited numbers per class with pre-class sign up available.
We are also making sure that the studio is kept clean and sanitary so that anyone who is attending private lessons or classes feels that they are spending time in a safe, clean environment, as well as to prevent the spread of the virus.
We understand that this is a unique and unpredictable time and our main concern is the safety and security of our pupils. Please bare with us while we make these changes but rest assured that you will not have to miss out on dancing in these uncertain times.
We hope to see you all soon,
The HDC Team
